    Dominique

    Co-owner
Dominique is from Vendee, a small district on the Atlantic Coast of France! Seafood country.... She came to Florida in 1984 with a team of pastry chefs and bakers who opened a pastry shop in Orlando. She went back to college and met her husband to be, German, in 1985. She started working at Cafe De France as a server-manager while in school. In 1986, she married German, and they bought the restaurant from the previous French owner. She doesn't called herself a Chef, since she doesn't have the appropriate diploma, but can certainly handle herself in the kitchen! She is known to take over the kitchen when Chef is out of town! She is in charge of the menu, and all that is food! She has a double life though! She is a free lance French/English interpreter, and travels quite extensively!

    German

    Co-owner
German is a Colombian native, who loves wines as much as he loves good coffee from his country! He came to Florida in 1983, to learn English and go to college. He met a French woman, Dominique, in 1985, married her in 1986 and bought the restaurant with her that same year. German's parents were in the grocery and liquor distributing business in Bogota. They also had a restaurant at one point. So German was born to run his own business, and does it well! He chooses the wines for the wine list, he also makes sure he has a few special bottles in the temp controlled cuvinet for his very special customers. He arranges wine orders by the case, since the restaurant has a full retail license. And of course organizes the restaurant monthly wine pairing dinners. And when it comes to food, well, as he says it so well: " I am here for quality control". ....so he eats a lot! German is very dedicated to the restaurant. He is on premises everyday, and can be found fixing something rather when the place is closed. The staff calls him McGyver, his daughter calls him "daddy fix it". He runs a tight ship, and that is why Cafe De France is still open and doing well after so many years!
